Snow Water Equivalent for Canadian Prairies

SSM/I-derived SWE map for Canadian Prairies

This image shows the most recent Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) map for Canadian Prairies (only available during winter). The colour filled contours depict variations in SWE that have been derived from passive microwave satellite data. SWE essentially represents the depth of water (mm) that would be produced if the snow was to melt. Contact Anne Walker at (416) 739-4357 for further information on this product.
