"Yikes! Well, that's the circle of life. The Arctic fox is one of the species near the top of the food chain. It's a carnivore and will eat whatever meat it can find throughout the year: lemmings, hares, fish, even other animal's leftovers. They're a desperate bunch. Even for animals that hide under the snow like the lemming, it is able to use its keen sense of hearing to locate them. The fox and the lemming are some of the many animals with the ability to change the colour of their coat to camouflage with the snow. In the winter they're both white, while in the warmer parts of the year when the snow melts, they turn brown."
